BJP created history in Uttar Pradesh by repeating the government after years. Although it got less seats this year than 2017, but it got absolute majority. While the Samajwadi Party performed much better than the previous election and became the main opposition party. There are 255 seats in the Legislative Assembly of this state, out of which BJP 255, Samajwadi Party 255, Apna Dal ( Sonelal) 16, Rashtriya Lok Dal won eight seats, Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party and Nirbal Indian Shoshit Hamara Aam Dal won six seats each. Indian National Congress and Jansatta Dal Loktantrik got two seats each. BSP could win only one seat. Yogi Adityanath once again became the Chief Minister of the state.
