Himachal Pradesh CM Sukhu To Validate Cannabis Cultivation : Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu government of Himachal Pradesh to legalize cannabis cultivation in the state is in preparation. A policy will be made for the cultivation of cannabis in Himachal. By legalizing cannabis cultivation, the state is expected to earn 40 thousand crore rupees annually. Organized illegal cultivation of cannabis is taking place in the estimated 2400 acres of land in the state. Hemp has traditionally been grown in parts of old Himachal, including Shimla, Mandi, Kullu, Chamba and Sirmaur. The government has formed a committee of five MLAs to legalize the cultivation of hemp. This committee will visit the areas of Himachal where cannabis is cultivated illegally. After studying all the aspects, this committee will submit its report to the government within a month. On the basis of this report, the government will take a final decision regarding the legalization of cannabis cultivation.
