Amritsar in Punjab recorded a minimum temperature of 1.6 degree Celsius today, while it was 4.9 in Ludhiana, 4.2 in Patiala, 8 in Pathankot, one in Bathinda and 3.7 degree Celsius in Gurdaspur. Chandigarh, the union territory and the common capital of Haryana-Punjab, recorded a minimum temperature of 6.7 degrees Celsius. According to the Meteorological Department, a drop of 4 to 7 degrees Celsius has been recorded in the minimum temperature in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Eastern Rajasthan, Western Uttar Pradesh and North-Western Madhya Pradesh. No significant change was recorded in other parts of North-West.
