Air and rail services affected due to snowfall in Kashmir

Fresh snowfall on the last day of ‘Chillai-Kalan’ in Kashmir today affected air and rail services in the valley. According to officials, moderate to heavy snowfall was recorded in the plains of Kashmir, while the higher reaches received heavy to very heavy snowfall. According to officials, there was about 7 inches of snowfall in Srinagar, more than 1 foot in Gulmarg, 9 inches in Pahalgam, 1.5 feet in Gurez and about 4 inches in the plains of Kupwara district. 1 to 2 feet of snowfall occurred in the higher reaches.
