Manipur Violence: The violence that has been going on in Manipur since last month has not stopped yet. In view of the violence, curfew has been imposed in several districts. The government has put the army on the front to restore peace. An all-party meeting was held under the leadership of Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday regarding the Manipur violence. In this meeting, information was given about the steps taken to stop the ongoing violence in Manipur. Total including BJP in the meeting 28 Political parties joined. In the midst of all this, the leader of the opposition party has been continuously attacking the central government over the Manipur violence.
President’s rule should be imposed in Manipur: SP MP
In an all-party meeting chaired by Union Home Minister Amit Shah yesterday to review the situation in Manipur, SP MP Ram Gopal Yadav said, Situation is worst since days. Women, children all have to bear the brunt of this. According to Union Home Minister Amit Shah, the situation has improved but houses are still burning and roads are getting blocked. I have demanded in the meeting that President’s rule should be imposed in Manipur as soon as possible to restore peace once again in the state.

At the same time, in an all-party meeting chaired by the Union Home Minister, TMC MP Saugata Roy said, Amit Shah has failed to restore peace in Manipur. He himself went there on a three-day tour, but could not do anything. Voices are being raised to remove the Chief Minister of Manipur. The central government should consider this.

Manipur has been burning in the fire of violence since May 3. The violence began when the first clash between the Kuki and Meitei communities took place on May 3 in protest against the grant of Scheduled Tribe (ST) status. Within no time, the clash turned into violence and spread across the state. Hundreds of houses were burnt. So far more than a hundred people have died. Whereas, thousands of people have been kept in relief camps. At the same time, hundreds of families have been displaced.
