What allegations were made by AAP leaders and corporators

Meeting Mayor, Deputy Mayor and was called for the election of the members of the Standing Committees. This election was to be held after the councilors took oath. According to MCD officials, this is the first time in the corporation’s history that the newly elected House failed to elect the mayor and deputy mayor in its first meeting. AAP leaders and councilors alleged that the decision to administer the oath to the ‘alderman’ before the elected councilors was a “ploy” by the BJP to get them the right to vote. The party had earlier also alleged that the Lt Governor has appointed BJP men as ‘aldermen’ instead of experts.
