Significantly, these days the discussion of Uniform Civil Code Act i.e. UCC is in full swing in the country. Along with the country’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his cabinet, all the big leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party are also seen trying to implement and agree on it. At the same time, the opposition is seen continuously opposing this law. For the last few days, some organizations of the Muslim community have also registered their protest regarding the UCC, while now many tribal organizations are also registering their protest by submitting a memorandum against the UCC. In Khargone, along with the office bearers of several tribal organizations, JAYS (tribal organization) together presented the same to the District Collector. A memorandum was submitted against the implementation of the Civil Code law. Along with the Jays, tribal organizations have demanded that they be kept out of the UCC Act. Because before the Uniform Civil Code was implemented, only tribals could take their lands, which now even people like Ambani and Adani can buy. And can make tribals landless. According to the tribal organizations, due to the implementation of UCC, the traditional traditions of the tribals, judicial systems, and their customs will all end. Due to this, the existence of tribals will end. According to him, the implementation of the UCC would lead to the destruction of various unique customary laws relating to marriage, partition, adoption, inheritance and succession in the country. The Common Civil Code will weaken those customs which have been given the force of law. According to the organisations, the tribal society is the owner of this country and the laws regarding the owner being a citizen do not apply. That’s why they should be kept separate from UCC law.
