In the month of February this year, the state unit of the Congress party announced the ‘Anna Bhagya’ scheme. Under this scheme, if Congress comes to power in Karnataka, it will provide 10 kg of rice for free every month to the Below Poverty Line (BPL) people in the state. In the month of January, the Congress party also announced ‘Griha Lakshmi’ scheme for the women of Karnataka. Under this scheme, Congress has promised to give Rs 2, per month to every housewife in the state.
