An official of South East Central Railway said that due to signal overshoot, the incident occurred near Singhpur station at around 6 am 8429. happened on the minute due to which the traffic on the Bilaspur-Katni rail route was disrupted. Singhpur Railway Station comes under Bilaspur Railway Division. Katni is located in Madhya Pradesh and Bilaspur in neighboring Chhattisgarh. He said that at least 185 running on this route Trains have been cancelled. The official said that in this incident eight coaches and one engine of the moving goods train loaded with iron ore derailed. The South East Central Railway official had earlier told that six railway personnel, including two loco pilots, were injured in the incident.
