The Congress-led opposition United Democratic Front (UDF) created a ruckus in the state assembly on Monday over the recent police action against party workers and its youth wing. They were seen trying to attract the attention of the Speaker with placards in their hands.

Congress MLA and leader of the youth wing of the party Shafi Parambil arrived in the House wearing a black shirt. The opposition party is protesting against the detention of party’s youth wing workers during Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s recent visits to various districts of the state. The Congress claimed that the police “brutally attacked” Youth Congress workers protesting at Kalamassery in the state’s Ernakulam district.
