The news of attack on laborers of northern state of Tamil Nadu (Bihar) is being told as false. DSP Balaji Saravanan told, the rumor spread on social media regarding the attack against the laborers is false. It is a matter of Tuticorin district, all the police personnel are here for security. , Action will be taken against those spreading rumors in social media DGP said, those spreading rumors in social media Action has been taken against. The channels were requested to remove the content spreading rumours, but action was taken against them for not agreeing. The DGP said, so far nine cases have been registered. He said, rumors are very dangerous and can create havoc, people should not forward such posts which are highly defamatory. Police said that the FIR was lodged against Prashant Kumar Umrao, a lawyer by profession, whose official Twitter handle states that he is the spokesperson of the Uttar Pradesh unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party. An FIR has been registered against Umrao under various sections of the Indian Penal Code for inciting riots, promoting enmity and hatred, breach of peace and making inflammatory statements.
