Supreme Court : Supreme Court for the release of the convicts in the Bilkis Bano gang rape case agreed to set up a special bench to hear the petition filed against Chief Justice DY Chandrachud, Justice P.S. Narasimha and Justice J. B. Pardiwala’s bench, while hearing the petition of Bilkis Bano, assured her through her lawyer Shobha Gupta that a new bench would be constituted. Requesting an immediate hearing on the matter, Gupta had said that there was a need to constitute a new bench. The Chief Justice said – a new bench will be constituted. We will consider it this evening.
