Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has said in his petition that if the High Court’s decision is not stayed, it will systematically undermine democratic institutions, time and again. This would result in suffocation of democracy, which could prove to be seriously detrimental to India’s political climate and future. It is most respectfully submitted that if the impugned judgment is not stayed, it will stifle free speech, free expression, free thought and free expression.
