The forest department was informed by the villagers about the leopard’s dead body lying in the forest. After which the forest department team recovered the leopard’s body and got the leopard’s post-mortem done in Madhav National Park. The last rites of the leopard were performed in the presence of senior officials of the Forest Department. As soon as the information about the case was received, Forest Department’s DFO Meena Mishra, SDO MK Singh, Ranger Anurag Tiwari reached the spot. The carcass of the leopard was examined. From which it was known that the leopard was hunted by using a trap. The forest department team was constantly looking for poachers, the team had caught two poachers Chhote Lal Jatav and Suresh Jatav on the basis of suspicion. On enquiry, he told that a trap had been laid to hunt wild boar, in which the leopard died after getting entangled. Ranger Anurag Tiwari told that the leopard got trapped in the trap spread in the field to hunt the wild boar and died instead of the wild boar, after which the poachers picked up the leopard’s body from the spot to hide the incident by 250 meters.
