Some dramatic developments took place while suspect Shah Rukh Saifi was being brought to Kozhikode. The police vehicle bringing Saifi entered Kerala in the early hours, but a wheel burst shortly after and the vehicle could not be used. After this, after waiting for more than an hour by the roadside, the Edakkad police of Kannur district arranged for another vehicle, but that vehicle also did not start, further delaying the journey. Then another vehicle had to be arranged, only after which the police team could leave for Kozhikode with the suspect.
