The Supreme Court is hearing a petition arising out of an order of the Punjab and Haryana High Court dated September 2020 which disposed of a petition seeking transfer of some FIRs lodged in Punjab relating to manufacture, sale and inter-state smuggling of spurious liquor to the CBI. The High Court disposed of the petition after the state counsel assured that the concerns raised by the petitioners would be duly addressed and appropriate action would be initiated.
