On this day, Shiva devotees get up in the Brahma Muhurta to please their Bhole Baba, take a bath, and meditate on Bhole Baba. A large number of devotees are reaching Omkareshwar, the famous pilgrimage city of Khandwa district of Madhya Pradesh, to have darshan of Baba Omkar on the occasion of the first Monday of Sawan. The devotees who reached the holy pilgrimage city first purified their mind by bathing in Maa Narmada and then reached the temple and visited Bhole Baba. On the first Monday of the month of Sawan, more than one and a half lakh devotees took a holy dip in Maa Narmada. According to the Dwadash Jyotirlinga source, Omkareshwar and Mamleshwar Jyotirlinga jointly occupy the fourth position among the twelve Jyotirlingas. This very ancient temple built on the Om shaped mountain surrounded by Maa Narmada is believed to be the sleeping place of Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati. According to religious beliefs, Lord Shiva roams and travels in the whole universe throughout the day, but he sleeps only on Omkar mountain. This is the reason, that the Shayan Aarti of Lord Omkareshwar takes place here. ,
