In Rajgarh district, the farmers had received compensation of billions of rupees in return for the land that came under the submergence of Mohanpura Dam. The farmers had made fixed deposits in other banks including ICICI in the district. Hanumant Mewade, the then Branch Manager of ICICI Bank’s Rajgarh branch, along with his colleagues cleared the amount of compensation to the farmers. When the farmers came to collect the FD amount, they were sent back after giving a vague answer. When the patience of the farmers started breaking, they created a ruckus. At the same time Hanumant Mewade also disappeared. His wife gave a written application of missing in Kotwali police station. The police is also probing him. A case has been registered against Mewade as well as two other people in Kotwali police station under various sections including cheating, embezzlement and preparing forged documents. Kotwali police station in-charge Umesh Yadav told that the then branch manager of ICICI Bank Hanumant Mewade and his associates Man Singh and Tapan Mori took overdraft on the basis of FD amount of the farmers. 05. When the matter came to the fore, the investigation team was formed on the instructions of the Collector. There were shocking revelations in the investigation conducted under the leadership of Rajgarh’s SDM Juhi Garg. Fake overdraft accounts were created on the FD amount of the farmers. Lakhs of rupees were withdrawn from these accounts. Mewa is also accused of taking gold loan by depositing fake gold in the bank. ,
