Last month, the police launched a massive campaign against Khalistan supporters and members of its organization 'Waris Punjab De'. Amritpal 12 had escaped from the clutches of the police in Jalandhar district on March. His close aide Pappalpreet Singh was recently arrested by the state police. Amritpal and his associates have been booked on several charges, including promoting enmity between different classes, attempt to murder, assault on police personnel and obstructing public servants in their duty.
