Cyber Frauds Arrested In Ludhiana, Punjab : Punjab’s Ludhiana Police on Friday busted an illegal call center and arrested 45 people for cheating various people including foreigners. Officials gave this information on Friday. In a tweet, Punjab Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav said, “In a major breakthrough, Ludhiana Police busted an illegally running international call center and arrested 22 persons of a gang, who posed themselves as technical service providers to multinational companies and duped citizens, mainly foreigners, of huge sums of money.”
Two women were included in the arrested accused, 35 Mobile recovered Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav said that the arrested gang members are from Meghalaya, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Delhi and Punjab. Ludhiana Police Commissioner Mandeep Singh said that two women were also among those arrested. He said that 35 mobile phones and 1, 11, 11 several electronic equipment were also recovered from the possession of the accused. Police said the gang members used to make calls to people from across the world and used to introduce themselves as customer support executives of top companies. Then they used to send an email to the customers in which a phone number was written.
Know how they used to become victims? “When an unsuspecting customer would call that number, the fraudsters would tell them that their mobile phone was hacked and all their banking information was at risk and asked them to share their bank details,” he said, adding that the accused would then perpetrate the fraud by collecting the information by sending a form to disclose the customer’s banking information.

It told that all those arrested are from different states and belong to poor families. Police said that the parents of most of them are laborers and the greed of earning easy money attracted them.
