Delhi High Court has suspended the Indian Police Service (IPS) for assisting the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in the investigation of the Ishrat Jahan fake encounter case. ) today dismissed the petition of former officer Satish Chandra Verma, in which he challenged the Central Government's order to sack him a month before his retirement. Verma was dismissed from service on 30 September last year, a month before his scheduled retirement i.e. 33 August.
