The incessant heavy rains have caused devastation in most of the states of the country. Somewhere people are troubled by floods and somewhere landslides due to rains are becoming the reason for many accidents. The news of the accident due to landslide in Uttarakhand has come to the fore on Monday night. A car full of pilgrims returning from Gangotri to Uttarkashi got buried under the debris of a landslide. Many passengers were rescued in this accident on the Gangotri National Highway, but the rescue operation had to be stopped midway due to the continuous falling of boulders.
)Four devotees died
It is being told that out of the three vehicles that were hit by the debris, a total of 37 People were aboard. In which 4 people died and 7 others were injured, out of which the condition of two is said to be serious. The injured have been admitted to hospital. All the four devotees who died in the accident were residents of Madhya Pradesh. As soon as the incident was reported, the police and the State Disaster Response Force team reached the spot and started the rescue operation. Local people and Border Roads Organization (BRO) workers are also helping in the relief work at the spot.
The bodies of three of the four devotees killed in the incident have been recovered. Efforts are being made to take out the dead body of another. According to the Uttarkashi District Disaster Operation Centre, due to incessant rains in the district, the Gangotri National Highway is blocked by landslides near Captain Bridge, Helgugad, Sungar, Gangnani, Sukkhi Nala and Harshil ahead of Bhatwadi.
Red alert issued in Uttarakhand
Due to incessant rains in Uttarkashi, the situation is getting worse. At the same time, due to heavy rains, the Meteorological Department has also issued a red alert in Uttarakhand.
