Papalpreet Singh Arrested: Pappalpreet Singh, who was in the shadow of ‘Waris Punjab De’ chief Amritpal Singh, has been sent to Dibrugarh Jail in Assam. Monday after Pappalpreet Singh absconding was captured in Amritsar district. He has been arrested under the National Security Act (NSA).
Pappalpreet was arrested a few days after the CCTV footage went viral
Inspector General of Punjab Police (Headquarters) Sukhchain Singh Gill told that Pappalpreet Singh was arrested by Amritsar Rural Police from Kathunangal area. Apart from this, he is wanted in six other cases. Earlier, officials had told that Pappalpreet has been arrested from Hoshiarpur. Against Khalistan supporters and their associates by Punjab Police Amritpal and Pappalpreet were absconding since the day the action was started on March. To arrest both, the police raided several areas including Hoshiarpur. Pappalpreet’s arrest comes a few days after a CCTV footage went viral on social media. On the basis of that footage, Pappalpreet was claimed to be in a village camp in Hoshiarpur. There the police conducted a massive search operation.
Pappalpreet was in contact with Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI
It is being told that Amritpal Singh and his associate Pappalpreet Singh got separated in Hoshiarpur while being chased by the Punjab Police. According to the police, Pappalpreet is believed to be an advisor to Amritpal and was allegedly in touch with Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI.
Search for Amritpal Singh continues
In the midst of the search for Khalistan supporter Amritpal Singh, Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav said on Monday that whoever is wanted under the law, we will catch him. It would be better if he surrenders before the law. Amid reports of Amritpal taking shelter at a religious place, the DGP said that religious places should not be used for personal reasons. Religious places should not be misused. Gaurav Yadav said that the mischievous elements supported by foreign forces and Pakistan’s ISI will not be allowed to disturb the peace in Punjab. He said, I want to tell our Punjabi brothers living in America and Canada that there is complete peace in Punjab and there is rule of law. If you have any misconception about Punjab then it should be cleared.
