NCP MLAs reached the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly on Tuesday, wearing onion garlands and carrying onions on their heads, demanding fair price for onions amidst the fall in prices. Earlier on Monday, due to the low wholesale price of onions, farmers had stopped the auction at the Lasalgaon Agricultural Produce Market Committee (APMC) in Nashik. After this the Maharashtra State Onion Producers Association protested against the government.

Similar protests were witnessed when farmers union registered their anger against the governments and NAFED both in the state and at the Centre.
