The Delhi High Court on Monday dismissed petitions challenging the Centre’s Agneepath scheme for recruitment in the armed forces. The court said that the Agneepath scheme has been brought in the national interest and for the betterment of the armed forces. There is no reason to interfere with the Agneepath scheme.
A bench of Chief Justice Satish Chandra Sharma and Justice Subramaniam Prasad said that there is no reason to interfere in the Agneepath scheme. Let us tell you that last year 17 had reserved its decision on the petitions on December.
It may be noted that last year 15 Agneepath Yojana was launched on June, under which rules have been set for the recruitment of youth in the armed forces. According to these rules to years of age People are eligible to apply and they will be recruited in the armed forces for four years. Of these 25 percent after four years Regular service opportunity will be given.
