The chairmanship of the committee was given to retired Supreme Court judge Justice Indu Malhotra. Many officers of the central and state government were also included in this inquiry committee. This committee investigated all aspects of the incident including the lapse in security. After investigation, the committee has given its report to the Punjab government.
