A senior BJP leader told TOI that Nitin Gadkari’s exit from active politics would be a big loss for entire Maharashtra and Vidarbha region in particular. Ever since he was elected as the MP of Nagpur, he has led development across the country. He is responsible for changing the face of Nagpur in his short tenure of eight years. Opposition leaders also appreciate his work. This is the reason, they are often referred to as ‘Rodkari’. Supporting the view, former MLC Girish Vyas said that BJP leaders and workers would not allow Gadkari to leave politics so soon and would persuade him to stay. At the same time, a senior Congress leader from Nagpur, who was earlier with the BJP, attributed Gadkari’s statements to the alleged dictatorship of PM Modi and said, most of the top leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party are fed up and want to quit politics.
