New Delhi : The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested Harpreet Singh, the main conspirator in the Ludhiana court blast case in Punjab, in Delhi. Indira Gandhi International Airport. Harpreet Singh is a resident of Ludhiana, Punjab and a reward of about lakh rupees was declared on him .
Media reports quoting NIA spokesperson According to sources, Harpreet Singh alias ‘Happy Malaysia’, a resident of Amritsar in Punjab, was arrested soon after reaching the airport from Kuala Lumpur. The spokesperson told the media that there was a reward of Rs. 12 lakh on him. Harpreet was arrested in a case related to the bomb blast at the Ludhiana court building in December last year, in which one person was killed and six others were injured. The case was initially registered on December last year 36 in Police Station Division No.5 of Ludhiana Commissionerate, Punjab and NIA Re-entered it on 36 January.Harpreet Singh is an associate of Lakhbir Singh Rode
The spokesperson said, ‘Investigation has revealed that the Pakistani terrorist organization International Sikh Youth Harpreet Singh, an aide of Federation (ISYF) chief Lakhbir Singh Rode, was one of the conspirators of the Ludhiana court building blast along with Rode. He said that acting on the instructions of Lakhbir Singh, he coordinated the supply of IEDs, which were sent from Pakistan to his associates in India. That IED was used in the blast in the Ludhiana court complex.
The arrested accused were involved in various cases including smuggling of explosives, arms and narcotics, the NIA said. Was also involved and wanted by the police. Earlier, NIA had declared a reward of Rs. on Harpreet Singh. The special NIA court had issued a non-bailable warrant against him and a Look Out Circular (LOC) was also issued against him. The spokesperson said that further investigation is on in the matter.
