According to the NIA, Arif lived in Bangalore and worked as a software engineer. It was told that he had contacted the handlers of Al Qaeda through the Internet two years ago and since then he had remained in contact with Al Qaeda. He used to take the help of internet to contact Al Qaeda terrorists. However, it is not yet clear whether he has not been involved in any incident or has not committed any crime.
