Sidhu was sentenced to one year rigorous imprisonment in a road rage case in the year 1988. The former Congress Punjab unit chief surrendered in a Patiala court, following which he was sent to jail on May last year 20. Sidhu’s lawyer HPS Verma had told on Friday that due to the good conduct of Navjot Sidhu during his imprisonment, his release is being done ahead of time, as is allowed under the rules. The family of Navjot Sidhu had received information from the Patiala Jail authorities regarding his release.
