The Eastern Nagaland People’s Organization (ENPO) is demanding a separate state called Frontier Nagaland consisting of six districts Mon, Tuensang, Longleng, Kiphire, Shamator and Noklak. The organization had initially given a call to boycott the elections due to non-fulfillment of their demands. He withdrew his call following an appeal by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA). In a statement, the ENPO also urged all residents to cooperate with the government during the elections and not create any law and order problems.
