It may be noted that the NDPP-BJP alliance is fighting for a second term in this election. Neiphiu Rio of NDPP is the face of the chief minister’s post from this alliance. On behalf of BJP, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP President JP Nadda, Union Ministers Sarbananda Sonowal, Kiren Rijiju, John Barla, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Vishwa Sharma and other leaders campaigned in favor of party candidates. NDPP campaigners led by Chief Minister Rio tried to woo voters in almost all the constituencies.
