Jabalpur High Court – Photo: Amar Ujala Detailed A petition was filed in the High Court against the framing of charges of abetment of suicide by the District Court for assaulting with sticks and pressurizing for compromise. High Court Justice Sujay Paul, while hearing the petition, said in his order that words uttered in anger cannot be considered as abetment to suicide. The Single Bench quashed the charges framed by the District Court. Petition was filed on behalf of the petitioners Rajendra Lodhi, Bhupendra Lodhi and Bhanu Lodhi, residents of Thana Pathariya, District Damoh. It was stated in the petition that Murat Lodhi on October 2022 had committed suicide by consuming sulfas in his house. The deceased had said in his dying declaration that Bhupendra Lodhi had attacked him with a stick while abusing him, the report of which he had lodged at the Patharia police station. After filing the report, he returned home. After that Rajendra and Bhanu came to him for resignation. Had threatened to face the consequences for not resigning. Police Section against him-306, 29. The charges were framed by the District Court under sections. After the hearing, the single bench, citing the order of the Supreme Court, said that provocation is a mental process. Words spoken in anger do not constitute an abetment to suicide. The Single Bench has quashed the charges framed by the District Court. ,
