Expansion Petitions were filed in the High Court against the auto rickshaw drivers creating a ruckus in the roads and not following the traffic rules. The High Court Chief Justice Ravi Vijay Kumar Malimath and Justice Vishal Mishra expressed their displeasure during the hearing and said that the petition is pending for the last ten years. The government is only presenting the paper report related to action for Khanapurti. During the hearing held earlier, it was told by the government that in Indore Thousand and 15 thousand autos are operating without permit in Bhopal. The maximum speed 40 has been fixed as per the regulatory provision of auto operation. Vehicle tracking system will be mandatory in autos which will be linked to the central integration of the transport department. Apart from this, duties and conduct of permits, regional transport authorities and drivers have also been prescribed. Permits will not be issued to ten years old auto-diesel rickshaws across the state. Such auto rickshaws will be converted to CNG.
In the past, the Transport Commissioner, who was present during the hearing of the petition, was strongly reprimanded by the court and said that the police and the transport department cannot take action. The court may appoint another agency. Courts can also discharge them for negligence. The authorities do not take the orders of the court seriously, hence the petition is pending from 2013. Giving a warning, the couple bench said that such a thing will not be tolerated in future. It was said from the government that the amended Motor Vehicle Act 2019 in the state An assurance was also given to implement it within days. During the hearing on the petition on Tuesday, it was told on behalf of the petitioner that the autos have been modified and fixed in the entire state. More passengers are seated than capacity. In place of three passengers in auto 15 to 20 Persons are seated. Motor Vehicle Act is openly violated. Due to political pressure, the amended Motor Vehicle Act 2021 has not been implemented by the state government for the improvement of traffic. The amended rule has provisions for heavy fines, which can improve traffic across the state. During the hearing of the petition, the couple bench expressed displeasure over the attitude of the government and issued an order to implement the amended Motor Vehicle Act. ,
