Monsoon updates : It is scorching hot in many states these days. People troubled by this heat are now waiting for rain. People are waiting for the monsoon, due to which it will rain and there will be a decrease in the temperature. Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has given the latest update regarding the monsoon. According to the department, the people of the country may have to wait for three to four more days for the monsoon. The Meteorological Department had earlier predicted that the monsoon would hit the state by June 4, now it is likely to reach Kerala by June 7.
According to what has been said by the Meteorological Department, the westerly winds are increasing over the South Arabian Sea. Due to this, the conditions of monsoon are becoming favorable. Also, the depth of the westerly winds is increasing gradually. On June 4, the depth of the westerly winds has reached 2.1 km above the mean sea level. This information has been given by the Meteorological Department on Monday.
When does monsoon reach Kerala
Let us discuss here that the monsoon was about to hit Kerala on Sunday but it did not start and the Indian Meteorological Department has predicted a further delay of three to four days. The southwest monsoon usually hits Kerala on June 1. It can start seven days before or after seven days. In mid-May, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) had said that the monsoon may hit Kerala by June 4.
Normal rains likely over India Meteorologists said that, however, this delay in the onset of monsoon is not likely to affect the kharif sowing and total rainfall in the country. Southeast Monsoon last year May, had reached Kerala. The IMD had earlier said that despite the development of El Nino conditions, India is likely to receive normal rainfall during the southwest monsoon season. Normal to below normal rainfall is expected over Northwest India.
