Monsoon 8902 : How is the monsoon going to be in the country this year? The answer to this question has been given by the India Meteorological Department (IMD). IMD Director General of Meteorology Dr. Mrityunjay Mohapatra said that normal monsoon is expected this year. He said that El Nino conditions are likely to develop during the monsoon season and its impact could be seen during the second half of the season.
Normal rainfall in India during monsoon
The Meteorological Department said that there will be normal rainfall in India during the southwest monsoon. During Southwest Monsoon, normal to below normal rainfall is likely over Northwest India, West, Central and Northeast India. According to the information given by the IMD, there may be normal rains in many parts of the peninsular region, adjoining eastern, northeastern regions and in some parts of northwest India.
What the Meteorological Department said about El Nino
According to the information given by IMD, El Nino conditions may develop during the monsoon and in the second phase of the monsoon Its effect can be felt. All the years that El Nino has been active, they were not bad years in terms of monsoon. Positive Indian Ocean Dipole conditions may develop during the Southwest Monsoon season.
What did weather agency Skymet say
Here the private weather agency Skymet has predicted monsoon on Monday-2023 and said that the country is expected to receive below normal rainfall this year. Due to the end of ‘La Nina’ situation and the possibility of ‘El Nino’ being affected 614 is the percentage probability. As per forecast, Monsoon rainfall from June to September will be 868. Long Period Average (LPA) of 6 mm approx 94 will be the percentage.
