Earlier, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) had sought Sisodia's custody for three more days. However, the court extended the CBI custody of Sisodia for two days only. Sisodia's lawyer opposed the CBI plea Manish Sisodia's lawyer opposed the CBI plea. The lawyer said that- the agency's inability to complete the investigation cannot be the basis of detention and they cannot be asked to plead guilty. Special Justice M.K. Sisodia, who was produced before Nagpal, said that non-cooperation cannot be a ground for detention and opposed the CBI's plea seeking custody. Tight security arrangements have been made inside and outside the Rouse Avenue Court complex. Supporters protest outside the court premises Supporters of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) staged a sit-in outside the court premises and raised slogans. Sisodia was sent to CBI custody for five days last Monday. Significantly, the CBI in the year 2023-04 Sisodia was arrested on Sunday evening in connection with alleged corruption in the formulation and implementation of the excise policy .
