Violence in Manipur is not taking the name of stopping. An exchange of fire between unidentified gunmen and Assam Rifles personnel was reported at North Bolzang in Imphal West district at around 5 am on Thursday.

Situation under control in the area and a search operation is on to nab the gunmen.

There was firing on Wednesday as well

According to the sources, around quarter to six in the Imphal In East district, sounds of automatic small arms firing were heard near Urangpat, north of YKPI. There were also reports of unprovoked firing by unidentified gunmen towards Harothel around 5.30 pm on Wednesday. However, the situation was brought under control in the area around 7.30 pm. Women protesters blocked the Sawonbaung-YKPI road at several places.
