शिव ज्योति अर्पणम महोत्सव के तहत शहर में लाखों दीप एक साथ जलाए जाएंगे, जो कि अपने आप में एक रिकॉर्ड भी होगा। अभी तक रामनगरी अयोध्या में एक साथ 15 लाख 76 हजार दीपक जलाए गए थे। ऐसे में उज्जैन में इस बार 21 लाख दीपक जलाए जाएंगे। इससे अयोध्या का रिकॉर्ड टूटेगा और देश में एक साथ लाखों दीप जलाने का नया कीर्तिमान बनेगा। पिछली, महाशिवरात्रि को भी 11 लाख से ज्यादा दीपक जलाकर उज्जैन ने गिनीज बुक ऑफ वर्ल्ड रिकॉर्ड में अपना नाम दर्ज कराया था।

बीते साल जलाए गए थे 11 लाख 71078 दीपक…
शिप्रा नदी के किनारे पिछले साल महाशिवरात्रि (एक मार्च 2022) पर सूरज ढलते ही एक साथ 11 लाख 71 हजार 78 दीये प्रज्वलित कर कीर्तिमान बनाया था। गिनिज बुक ऑफ वर्ल्ड रिकॉर्ड की टीम ने इसे दीपों का सबसे बड़ा प्रदर्शन (लार्जेस्ट डिस्प्ले आफ आयल लैम्प) करार दिया था। विश्व रिकार्ड बनने का प्रमाण पत्र मुख्यमंत्री शिवराज सिंह चौहान को प्रदान किया। इसके बाद आतिशबाजी कर शिप्रा आरती की गई थी।
