On the next day of Mahashivratri, the Sehre of Lord Mahakal is worshipped. After the Sehre pooja on Sunday, a grand Bhasm Aarti was held. Millions of devotees from far and wide had reached Ujjain to see Bhasmarathi. According to Pandit Mahesh Pujari, the Sehra of Lord Mahakal is decorated on the Mahashivratri festival. Later in the morning, there are darshans of Sehre. The tradition has been going on since time immemorial. That is why Bhasm Aarti is performed in the afternoon on the second day of Mahashivratri. The Mahashivratri festival concluded with Aarti at Mahakaleshwar Temple. Rajadhiraj Lord Mahakal was given a bath with milk, yogurt, ghee and fruit juice before Bhasm Aarti. After that, the Lord was attractively adorned with dried fruits and cannabis. After the adornment of Rajadhiraj, Bhasma Aarti was performed by Mahant Vineet Giri of Mahanivarni Akhada.
