Police gave this information. District Congress Committee (DCC) president Mohammed Shias confirmed that seven Congress workers from Kochi West area were taken into preventive custody by the police this morning, including KPCC secretary Thampi Subramaniam and DCC secretary Sreekumar. Police said that these Congress workers had demonstrated with black flags earlier also during the visit of leaders of rival parties in the area, that is why they have been taken into preventive custody.
