In this month lakhs of devotees go on Kavad Yatra in the country as well as in Nimar-Malwa region. After reaching the religious city of Omkareshwar, carrying the kavad on their shoulders, they take a bath in the Narmada and anoint the Jyotirlinga of Lord Omkareshwar. Most of the Kavadis from this area also go to Ujjain to visit Baba Mahakal. Most of the Kavadis use the Indore-Ichhapur National Highway for movement. Due to heavy and goods carrying vehicles coming out on this highway, the traffic pressure remains high, due to which there is a possibility of accidents. Keeping in view the safety of the Kavadis, in the month of Shravan, the administration on the highway at 6 am: to night : Vehicular traffic is being restricted. This temporary ban in view of Maharashtrian Shravan Starting July will be applicable till August. This will be the changed traffic system 0702884 Khandwa Superintendent of Police Satyendra Kumar Shukla said that keeping in view the safety of Kavad passengers, heavy vehicles have been banned and diverted to other routes. He told that heavy vehicles coming from Burhanpur side would be able to pass through Deshgaon in Khandwa district via Khargone on AB Road. Similarly, heavy vehicles coming from Indore side will also be able to go towards Burhanpur via Khargone via Deshgaon via AB Road. Vehicles of essential services will be exempted 16884344501688434450 SP Satyendra Shukla told that vehicles engaged in essential services during the ban period has been kept free. In these, milk, municipal health staff, police, fire brigade, water tankers, army vehicles, improvement vehicles of electricity company, gas distribution vehicles and vegetable vehicles will be exempted from this ban. He said elaborate security arrangements have been made. Check points will also be made from the point of view of security. ,
