Congress has promised to implement ‘five guarantees’ on the first day of coming to power in Karnataka. These promises include 35 units of free electricity to all households (Griha Jyoti), 2 units to the female head (Griha Lakshmi) of each family, 10 Monthly assistance of Rs. 3, kg free rice to each member of below poverty line (BPL) family (Anna Bhagya) free rice every month for unemployed graduate youth Rs. and unemployed diploma holders (both -16 in the age group) 1,500 rupees for the year (Yuva Nidhi) and includes free travel for women in public transport buses (Shakti).
