Significantly, Pawar announced his plans for the Karnataka elections a day after meeting with Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi, in which he discussed the plans to take on the BJP in next year’s Lok Sabha elections. There was a discussion on the need to maintain opposition unity. Let me tell you, there will be voting in one phase for the assembly elections in Karnataka on 10 May. Whereas, the counting of votes will be done on 13 May.
