The Central Government constituted a committee on Friday to “expeditiously study” the incident of land subsidence in Joshimath, Uttarakhand and its impact. An office memorandum issued by the Ministry of Jal Shakti said that representatives of the Ministry of Environment and Forests, the Central Water Commission, the Geological Survey of India and the Mission for Clean Ganga would be included in the committee.
