Expressing displeasure over the government's attitude, the single bench of High Court Justice Vivek Aggarwal rejected the application. The single bench has issued orders to the government to present the draft prepared by the committee within a week. The single bench has also directed the government to provide information about when the draft will be presented in the assembly for consideration and voting. Significantly, the bail petition filed in the crime of online gambling was taken seriously by the High Court. The High Court had sought response from the government regarding making strict laws regarding online gambling. In the reply presented by the government, it was said that a committee of senior secretaries of the state is considering enacting a law to curb online gambling. It will take three months to draft the law and then it will be sent to the assembly for approval. The High Court had given three months time to the government to prepare the framework. Now during the hearing of the petition, the government was requested to withdraw the said order. Expressing displeasure over the attitude of the government, the single bench said that instead of presenting the law related draft, the government is presenting the said application. Rejecting the application, the single bench said that if the said officers do not present the affidavit in the next hearing, they will have to pass orders for personal appearance. The next hearing on the matter will be on March. Court on August had directed the State Government to take necessary steps to curb online gambling. The court had said that online gambling is affecting the economic, mental and physical health of the youth of the country to a large extent. No more time can be waited to take a concrete decision in this matter. The High Court had issued the above orders during the hearing on the bail application of Sanat Kumar Jaiswal of Singrauli district. Sanat is alleged to have withdrawn 8 lakh 21 thousand rupees from his maternal grandfather's account. He wasted this amount by betting on IPL. ,
