Madhya Pradesh High Court - Photo: Social Media Expansion The Khandwa District and Sessions Court had awarded death sentence to the accused who raped and murdered a nine-year-old innocent girl. The High Court had earlier confirmed the death sentence. Justice Rajendra Kumar Verma and Justice AK Singh have issued instructions for the final hearing on this matter which reached the High Court again. Khandwa District Court on March 4 2013 Anokhi Lal was sentenced to death for raping and killing a nine-year-old innocent girl. The case was referred to the High Court for confirmation of the death sentence. The High Court had agreed on the death penalty, terming the decision of the District and Sessions Court as correct. Against which the Supreme Court was taken refuge. The Supreme Court had given instructions to re-hear the case by a special bench. The Special Bench, while re-hearing the case, had sentenced the accused to death on August 2022. The Special Bench had referred the case to the High Court for confirmation of the sentence. The High Court's double bench has issued instructions for the final hearing in the case. The next hearing on the petition has been fixed after the vacation. ,
