Madhya Pradesh High Court - Photo: Social Media Expansion The High Court took seriously the issue of cancellation of the election notification recently after completion of the term of the previous executive in the Jabalpur Cantt Board. Expressing displeasure in the matter, a division bench of Chief Justice Ravi Vijay Malimath and Justice Vishal Mishra has asked why the elections to the Cantt Board are not being conducted. In this regard, the Division Bench has directed the ASG to submit a reply in two weeks to indicate when the elections will be held, though the detailed order is awaited. This PIL has been filed on behalf of Amarchandra Babaria, the outgoing councilor of Cantt Board, Jabalpur. In which it has been said that a year has passed since the completion of the tenure of the office bearers of the Kent Board, yet new elections were not conducted. Not only this, it was said on behalf of the applicant that due to the change in the section-03 of the constitution of the Kent Board Despite 233 no civil member has been appointed even after a month has passed. Secretary Defense Ministry, DG Defense and Principal Director Defense State have been made parties in the case. During the further hearing in the case, an application was presented on behalf of the applicant and it was said that the recently issued election notification canceled on March, while there is no such provision. It is illegal not to hold new elections even after a long time has passed. Taking this seriously, the court has asked the non-applicants to tell when the elections will be held, for which the court has given two weeks time. ,
