court new – photo: istock Expansion The accused convicted under the Arms Act has filed an appeal against non-payment of remuneration amount by the jail authorities. It was said in the appeal that the court had sentenced him to rigorous imprisonment. During his detention in jail, he was admitted to the hospital for treatment only for a week. AGJ Rajkumar Chauhan, while hearing the appeal, has issued a notice to the jail authorities seeking their reply. Tell that in the petition filed by Ajit Singh Anand, a resident of Gwarighat Road, it was said that he should be arrested under the Arms Act. The court sentenced him to two years’ rigorous imprisonment. After which he was detained in jail for about two and a half months. He was released after getting bail from the High Court. Prisoners sentenced to rigorous imprisonment are made to work in jail and are given remuneration fixed by the government. Had taken refuge in the court alleging embezzlement of remuneration amount by the jail officer. During the hearing of the case, the court was told that he was admitted in the jail hospital for treatment for a week. His application was rejected by the Court for not seeking sanction for prosecution under 06. Against this the said appeal has been filed. It has been demanded in the appeal that a criminal case should be registered against the guilty officers. The then Jail Superintendent Gopal Tamarkar, Deputy Jail Superintendent RK Mishra and Madan Kamlesh have been made non-appeals in the appeal. ,
