After committing the murder, the accused locked himself in the room and kept threatening the neighbours. Police arrested the accused by breaking the door. According to the information received from SDOP Lanji Durgesh Armo, Durga Prasad Bawankar, resident of village Ameda under Thanaa Bahela (Lanji) police station (233)) was a habitual drunkard and unemployed. His wife Sarla (02) was a primary school teacher. He has two daughters, one of whom was studying in Balaghat. Another daughter lived with them. There used to be frequent family disputes between husband and wife. Due to a family dispute at around eight o’clock on Thursday night, the husband stabbed her five-six with a knife and killed her by slitting her throat. After executing the incident, he locked himself in his room. On coming to know about the incident, the accused youth would have threatened to kill the neighbors if they would have seen through the window. The police arrested the accused by breaking the door after a lot of effort. Police sent the dead body for postmortem after Panchnama action. ,
